DOB IN A TOSSER!
The Country Fire Authority in Victoria has confirmed that the 2009 Black Saturday fire was caused by a discarded cigarette butt. This fire resulted in the death of 173 people, the loss of over 2,030 homes and thousands of animals lost their lives - all completely avoidable.
We all know that cigarette butts thrown from a car window have the potential to start fires but did you know there is something you can do about it?
Throwing a cigarette butt from a car window is classed as a dangerous act and the perpetrator can be fined up to $4,486 under Queensland's Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011.
